Since the 2023 rewrite (House Bill 33), you notify your district superintendent within 5 days of starting home education — then annually by August 30 — with an assurance you’ll cover English language arts, math, science, history, government, and social studies. The exemption takes effect when you send it, and the district must acknowledge within 14 days. That’s the whole obligation.
