Wisconsin offers no ESA, voucher, or tax benefit usable by home-based programs as of June 2026. The private-school tuition subtraction is officially homeschool-ineligible — the Department of Revenue’s own FAQ says a home-based program is not a private school for that purpose — and the Parental Choice and Special Needs Scholarship programs fund attendance at participating private schools only.
The federal scholarship tax credit launching in 2027 won’t reach Wisconsin families for now either: the legislature passed an opt-in bill and the governor vetoed it in March 2026. Homeschooling here is self-funded — and entirely self-directed, which is rather the point.
