Attendance logs, portfolio archives, and year-end exports follow common state requirements. Texas is fully supported today, with state-specific minimums and transcript fields for California, Florida, Oregon, and New York rolling out as we expand.
File the Notice of Consent (the MSDE notification form) with your county superintendent at least 15 days before beginning — once per child — then verify continuation each year before the school year starts. Teach English, math, science, social studies, art, music, health, and PE on a regular basis and of sufficient duration. There are no hour counts, no tests, and no teacher qualifications anywhere in the regulation.
Under the default, you keep a portfolio (materials, reading lists, writing samples, worksheets, creative work, tests) and the county may review it at semester’s end, at a mutually agreeable time, at most three times a year — once or twice is typical. Under an umbrella (an MSDE-approved nonpublic school or a church organization’s program), the umbrella supervises and annually verifies your enrollment with the county, and the county conducts no portfolio reviews. Umbrellas charge fees and add their own expectations; the county route is free and maps exactly onto a well-kept portfolio. Either way, the portfolio is the asset — 10Talents accumulates it as you teach.
