The 2025 ESA bills — including one that would have covered homeschool curriculum — died in committee, and what passed in 2026 (SB 84) only expanded the Partners in Education tax-credit scholarships, which pay tuition at accredited private schools; homeschoolers are not eligible.

File the Alternative Instruction Notification form (online or paper, with the state DOE or your district) within 30 days of beginning. It’s effective upon filing — no approval step — and carries the child’s name, birth date, and district, plus a certified birth certificate or notarized identity affidavit the first time. You never renew; you re-file only on a transition, like moving districts or returning from public school.
Since 2021’s SB 177 there is no standardized testing for independent homeschoolers. The substance requirement is teaching the basic skills of language arts and mathematics, for a period equivalent to the public schools, leading to mastery of English. How you do that is entirely yours.
